      Cider press

I am using this page to consolidate my posts on the cider press I made mostly from bits and pieces I had laying around.  Please feel free to follow the links (top to bottom is chronological order) to see how it progressed.

i like the simple, yet effective design of your press. i might try again.. i made one with a screw and slighly elevated my bottom platform,,,,it didn’t work well….i had thoug of using the same stainless container from big lots but was unsure how many holes to drill..thanks alot for the pics…..i have several tests going on hard cider, ciderkin, ciderwine.

I’m wondering what size bottle jack you used? I want to make one of these for my folks. —Jenn

Jenn- I think it is a run of the mill 2 ton jack. It’s just one I grabbed at a car parts store I think. Really, about any size would work though assuming it would fit into your rig. Does that help?
