This is a busy week as they all have been recently. I am once again the head coach for the boys’ soccer team at the local middle school. I coached in previous years, in large part, because Isaac was a player on the team and I enjoyed watching he and his friends play and leading them … Continue reading Soccer Thoughts – 2014
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was the head coach for the middle school boys’ soccer team. We finished the season last night with the county play-offs where we won 4-0! During the regular season, we had a record of 11-1 which made us the number 2 seed. Semi-finals games were played Monday … Continue reading County Soccer Champs!
Soccer is back in season for both kids. It’s a great time of year but also a bad time of year. We love the game and the kids on the teams and the fun but we quickly get tired of non-stop running. I am the head coach for the middle school team on which Isaac … Continue reading Soccer 2013
We do soccer. Since the kids were 4 or 5, we have played spring and fall ball and the last few years, we have played indoor winter soccer. It’s funny how soccer works in our house. A few weeks before each season starts, we are ready to go! Soccer can’t come soon enough. About midway … Continue reading Soccerific
Aside from our cabin, soccer has been keeping us busy. Isaac is on the middle school team this year, just like he was last year. The difference this year is that I am one of the coaches. Two of the coaches from last year had kids on the team that moved to high-school so I … Continue reading Soccer
The kids have participated in soccer for the last few years and here we are, better than half way done with another season. I am the coach for Isaac’s team and an assistant for Abigail’s team so they are stuck with me. Anyhow, both kids are pretty good and seem to really enjoy playing. I … Continue reading Fall Soccer
Every year, our church sponsors a soccer camp/vacation Bible school known as Big Kick Soccer Camp. This year we have around 150 kids, aged 4-12 years and 20 or so coaches, aged 250-300 years…or so it feels. Anyhow, my kids are surely having a ball playing soccer, getting really muddy and hearing Bible stories. These pictures are … Continue reading Big Kick Soccer Camp
We have been busy with lots of stuff as I mentioned before and most of what we have been doing revolved around my coaching soccer again, the kids doing stuff in band, and work related obligations. One thing, though, that I have been doing is a little different from that. Back in April, my company … Continue reading Running
All four of us dutifully got our flu shots in October or November…whenever they came in at our doctor’s office. We usually get them every year and have mostly been well served. Both kids and Emily are exposed to a lot of potential flu-people though so it’s always a bit of a gamble as to … Continue reading The flu…one down, three to go
The end of the sports seasons are near for us…We’ve been full-on since school started. I am the head coach for the boys soccer team at the local middle school. Isaac is in the high school band which plays at festivals around the area and at every football game, home or away. Abigail is running cross-country … Continue reading Still here…and running!
