Great idea! I was brought up in a very poor country (my parents are missionaries) and every time we'd come back to the U.S. for a year our parents made up give away all of our toys to children that didn't have anything. I remember giving my favorite 2 dolls to this one little girl that lives in a cardboard box, ever since then I've been willing to give away just about anything to anyone. That is wonderful that Abigail gave up her shoes. It is amazing the things they say and how it warms your heart. I would admit I would have a hard time giving up my sketchers!

It really was a great experience. At first Abigail didn’t want to give up her boots (and we told her she didn’t have to.) Then she said, “But Momma, just think how happy some little girl who doesn’t have any shoes at all will be when she gets a pair of pink cowboy boots.” She put her boots into the barrel with a big smile on her face.
